Company Information
What
is Quickbrowse?
Quickbrowse is a Web-based subscription service, enabling users to combine
frequently viewed Web pages into a single "Quickbrowse Page" for
faster viewing and one-step printing. Most subscribers use Quickbrowse with a
simple goal: to read more in less time. Quickbrowse has proven to be a competitive
intelligence tool for anybody wanting to gain an advantage in an
information-dependent environment.
|
How
did it start?
Quickbrowse.com was created by freelance journalist Marc Fest, when he invented a way to
speed up viewing information on the web by literally "stitching
together" multiple web pages for faster viewing. |
What has become of
it?
Quickbrowse.com was the first to bring metabrowsing to the web. Its patent-pending
technology now offers the best solution to users who need to view a lot of information in
as little time as possible.
To content publishers on the Web, Quickbrowse offers cost-efficient, licensable
technologies.
As a
result of the
"dotcom shakeout", Quickbrowse has emerged as the only service
of its kind (see Feb 2002 press release). |
Who are the current
backers?
Quickbrowse has finished a first round of angel financing. It's most prominent backers are
We appreciate the confidence and support of our early investors
and look forward to working with new investors as we raise additional funds to continue to
execute our plan. |

What's all this
recent
"metabrowsing" talk?
"Metabrowsing"
is a new word coined by pundits and analysts to describe what Quickbrowse does, i.e.
combining information from multiple web sites inside a single, continuously scrollable
page. Traffick.com writes in an article about metabrowsing:
"Quickbrowse is so easy, I think it will be the first [of all metabrowsers] to gain
widespread acceptance. It's very straightforward and simple to use." Quickbrowse was
the first to bring metabrowsing to the Web in January 1999.
We set up a page with more
information about the birth of the new word "metabrowsing" and a list of
stories that have been using it (in case you are interested in etymology ;-) |
 |
Why has Quickbrowse
been receiving so
much press?
With zero spent on marketing so far and no PR firm, Quickbrowse just seems to have caught
on by word-of-mouth, generating positive news coverage in more than 120 publications,
including the
New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Newsweek, Time Magazine and the Miami
Herald. Born out
of need, Quickbrowse offers a highly effective solution to the problem of consolidating
information
from different Web sources into a single place. As one reviewer put
it: "It's ingenious but simple." (see press archive) |
