Quickbrowse saves surfers a lot of time
By Jan Dempsey
Time - there never seems to be enough of it. And anyone who browses the Internet on a daily basis knows just how time-consuming it can be. If you're one of those people who routinely checks certain sites, whether for work or for pleasure, here is a Web site that just might make your day. Marc Fest, a former freelance journalist who lives in Miami got tired of spending hours online each day reading newspapers. He cut his online browsing time from three hours each day to 20 minutes by developing a Web site called Quickbrowse (www.quickbrowse.com). Quickbrowse is considered a metabrowser. It allows Internet users to view several (up to 20) Webpages at once, on a continuous page. The content of the pages, including the graphics and links, remains intact. You can enter Web addresses for the sites you check on a regular basis or you can select sites from a pre-selected list of major newspapers such as The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, USA Today and others. You can also select sites from categories based on your interests, such as Breaking News, Humor, Health, Business, Entertainment, Sports, Shopping, Travel and more. Finally, you can save the collection so you don't have to retype addresses or re-select sites from categories. If you prefer, Quickbrowse will e-mail your sites to you on a daily or weekly basis. Marc Fest wanted to spend more time at the beach. What could you do with some extra time?
