WWW.WORTHIT Getting on the Same Page
Reading the Web is just like reading the newspaper, except the "which
section should I start with" problem is a gazillion times as complex. A
good set of bookmarks helps, but then you have to keep them up to date and
logically sorted. And clicking back and forth from one site to the next is
also a nuisance when you visit several sites regularly or reference a
bunch of them simultaneously. To try to solve this problem, Quickbrowse
(http://www.quickbrowse.com) constructs tailored Web pages that weave
multiple search engines, portals or other sites into one big page. The
site's newspaper-sites template, for instance, lets you build a customized
paper out of the sections you want in online papers. Note, however, that
Web sites that use frames may confuse Quickbrowse and not display
properly. -- Gabriel Goldberg (gabe@acm.org)
